Construction of the western service road of Vinh city started
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 24, the Department of Transport held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the western service road of Vinh city, part of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A, Quan Hanh - Quan Banh section.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Director of the Department of Transport Nguyen Hong Ky.

The western service road project, running along the railway overpass with National Highway 1A at the Nghi Kim commune intersection, near the Northern Bus Station, is under new construction.
The route has a total length of nearly 2km, designed according to the standards of a level 3 plain road; 12m wide, of which the width for motor vehicles is 2x3.5m, the road for rudimentary vehicles is 2 x 1.75m and the sidewalk is 2x 0.75m wide, in addition there is a drainage ditch system running parallel.
The designed speed for this route is 80km/h. The total cost of the project is more than 30 billion VND, expected to be completed and handed over for use 9 months after the commencement of construction.

The construction of the western service road, part of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A, Quan Hanh - Quan Banh section, once completed and put into use, will contribute to reducing traffic accidents on railways and roads. At the same time, it will facilitate trade and travel from Cua Lo town, Vinh city and surrounding areas to Uncle Ho's hometown, Thanh Thuy border gate and the western districts of the province./.
