Construction of Nam Non Hydropower Plant started
(Baonghean) -This morning (December 4), at Xieng Huong village, Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district (Nghe An), Ban Ve Hydropower Joint Stock Company - Hydropower Project Management Board II held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Nam Non Hydropower project.
Attending the event were comrades: Phan Dinh Trac - member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders and people of Tuong Duong district.
Nam Non Hydropower Project is built on Nam Non River (a main branch of Ca River), including 2 units, installed capacity of 20 MW, basin area of 8,855 km2, is the ladder between Ban Ve hydropower plant and Khe Bo hydropower plant, 14km downstream from Ban Ve hydropower plant. The project has a total investment of 513,218 billion VND, expected to be completed and put into operation in 2014, supplying about 89 million kWh/year to the national power system.

The investment in the construction of the Nam Non Hydropower Plant will contribute to the structural shift and accelerate the local economic development. After generating electricity to the 110KV line, the project will provide more stable power supply to districts along National Highway 7 during the rainy and stormy season.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Dinh Viet Hong highly appreciated the efforts of the investor and hoped that the investor would speed up the project implementation progress. He also assigned the provincial departments and branches and Tuong Duong district to create all conditions and remove difficulties to help the investor quickly implement the project and put the factory into operation soon.
On this occasion, Ban Ve Hydropower Joint Stock Company launched a fund to support the poor in Tuong Duong district and raised 40 million VND. Song Da 5 Joint Stock Company alone donated 200 million VND to support the poor in Tuong Duong district.
