Commencement of construction of gratitude houses for 2 policy families in Nghi An commune (Vinh city)
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of October 26, the Engineering Command held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a house of gratitude for two policy families in Nghi An commune, Vinh city (Nghe An).
Attending the event were Major General Pham Quang Xuan - Commander of the Engineering Corps, representatives of the Provincial Military Command, Vinh City Military Command, authorities and people of Nghi An commune.
The two families that Battalion 93 - Engineering Command built gratitude houses for are Mr. Bach Thiem (born in 1943, residing in Kim Dong hamlet) and Mr. Nguyen Cong Le (born in 1940, residing in Kim Chi hamlet). Mr. Bach Thiem fought in the Thua Thien Hue battlefield. In 1973, he was demobilized, got married and had 4 children, of whom he and his youngest child were exposed to Agent Orange. During the recent flood, his family's thatched house collapsed. As for Mr. Nguyen Cong Le, a 4/4 disabled veteran, his family's economy faced many difficulties, his house was degraded and suddenly collapsed.

Two houses of gratitude will be built for two families with a total cost of about 350 million VND. It is expected to be completed and handed over to the families in January 2013.
