Launching the Forestry Development Project in Thanh Hoa - Nghe An
On November 12, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Forestry Development Project Management Board (WB3) held a conference to kick off the project for the 2012-2015 period. The Forestry Development Project, funded by the World Bank (WB), was approved by the Prime Minister in 2004.

The Forestry Development Project, funded by the World Bank (WB), was approved by the Prime Minister in 2004.
On September 8, 2011, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development approved the project adjustment, expanding the project to Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces. The implementation period is until March 31, 2015. The project's objective is to sustainably manage planted forests and conserve biodiversity of special-use forests. The project has 4 components: Institutional development; Production forest planting; Special-use forest conservation and Project management.
According to the project, from 2012-2014, with the project's capital, Nghe An will plant 6,000 hectares of new forests in 6 districts: Thanh Chuong, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Tan Ky, Do Luong, Yen Thanh. The total capital is 2.92 million USD (of which 0.3 million USD is local counterpart capital).
After hearing the introduction of information about the project, the implementation plan in the two provinces and the environmental impact assessment, on behalf of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee committed to arranging counterpart funds to meet the requirements of the project; directing localities and sectors to implement the project well, meeting the requirements of the project. Currently, project management boards at all levels have been established. Delegates attending the workshop also analyzed the advantages and difficulties of the project to ask for guidance from the project management board of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
