Block I, Doi Cung ward organized the National Great Unity Day

(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the National United Front Founding Day on November 18, 2013, on the evening of November 16, cadres and people of Block I, Doi Cung Ward (Vinh City) organized the National Great Unity Festival. Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; leaders of the City Fatherland Front Committee came to celebrate with the people of Block I.

Block 1, Doi Cung Ward, Vinh City has 196 households with 800 people. Over the years, the Block Executive Committee has paid attention to leading, directing, and motivating people to develop and expand business and trading services. The Block has proactively created conditions for poor and near-poor households to develop their economy. Up to now, the ward has no more poor or near-poor households. Obligations and funds such as child protection, Red Cross Fund, Fund for Agent Orange Victims, and For the Poor have all received active contributions from the people and exceeded the set targets.

Promoting the tradition of "mutual love and support", the block has built a movement of each family having a savings box at home, resulting in more than 40 million VND collected to visit families in difficult circumstances, sick, suffering from serious diseases, and unfortunate accidents. The study encouragement work is of interest. In 2013, the block had 10 children passing university and college entrance exams; 4 children achieving excellent provincial students; 2 excellent city students. For 2 consecutive years, the block has no one having a third child. Cultural, physical education and sports movements have developed strongly, continuing to maintain the title of Cultural unit, from 2005 to now, the block has been classified as excellent in Doi Cung ward.

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh hopes that cadres and people in the bloc will continue to build a united bloc, sympathize, share the joys and sorrows as well as the difficulties; make greater efforts, strive for greater achievements in all economic and social fields; ensure security and order; build an effective executive committee of the bloc, contributing to building a strong Doi Cung ward, and building Vinh city to soon become the center of the North Central region.
