Prosecution of the subject who scammed more than 300 people into finding jobs

Taking advantage of the trust of many people, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa (Hue City) used the trick of fake job applications and defrauded over 300 people of up to 22 billion VND.

On October 21, Colonel Ho Quang Minh, Head of the Investigation Police Department of Thua Thien-Hue Police, said that he had just initiated a case and prosecuted Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, 53 years old, residing in Thuan Hoa ward, Hue city, for fraud and property appropriation.

According to the investigation agency, from March 2013 to March 2015, taking advantage of her relationships and speaking ability, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa used the trick of fake job applications and defrauded over 300 people, appropriating over 22 billion VND.

In early 2013, when hearing that Hue Central Hospital needed to recruit about 500 officers and employees to work at the International Hospital, Thanh Hoa introduced herself as an acquaintance of many leaders at this hospital and promised to find a job there.

Many gullible people contacted Hoa and gave her 80-120 million VND for each job. The incident was discovered because after that recruitment round, no one was accepted to work at this hospital. Hoa gave the reason that she was waiting for the next recruitment round, but she was still not accepted. Many people were suspicious so they came to ask for their money back and at the same time, filed a complaint with the police.

Through the investigation, Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police determined that Nguyen Thi Hoa not only tricked people into applying for jobs at Hue Central Hospital but also tricked many people into applying for jobs in the education, military, and police sectors for 80 million to 320 million VND per job.

It is known that most of the victims were scammed mainly in Thua Thien Hue and the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Da Nang city. Hoa used the money she embezzled to pay off debts and for personal expenses. Currently, the investigation agency of Thua Thien - Hue Police has continued to expand the investigation to identify individuals involved in this fraud ring./.
