Prosecution of transnational fraudsters of tens of billions of dong
(Baonghean.vn) -On December 12, 2012, the Nghe An Police Investigation Agency prosecuted Mai Thi Tuan (commonly known as Ha, born in 1971, hometown Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau, Nghe An) for fraud and appropriation of tens of billions of dong.

The Nghe An Police Department investigating crimes related to economic management and position, investigating a wildlife trafficking ring from Nghe An to Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh), discovered that Mai Thi Tuan had tricked a number of people in Dien Chau and Yen Thanh districts, taking a large amount of money. Mr. Tran Van Bui (in Dien Hong, Dien Chau), believing that Tuan had a shipment of rare animals liquidated by the state, sent 7 billion VND, but Tuan took it. Several other people in Yen Thanh District (Nghe An) and Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) were also tricked by Tuan to take their money, then fled.
On December 8, 2012, the Police Department of Investigation of Economic and Positional Crimes of Nghe An Police in coordination with relevant units and Hanoi Police arrested Mai Thi Tuan at a motel in Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dang Van Hoat, Deputy Head of the Criminal Police Department on Economic and Position Management: Mai Thi Tuan is a transnational subject, the victims need to contact the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province for resolution.
