On the evening of August 23, Bac Ninh Provincial Police announced that they had just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and issued a temporary detention order for Nguyen Thi Thu (32 years old, residing in Group 5, Hop Giang Ward, Cao Bang City, Cao Bang Province) for the act of appropriating a person under 16 years old.

Previously, at around 6:30 p.m. on August 21, Bac Ninh Provincial Police received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1983, in Khuc Xuyen ward, Bac Ninh city) that he had lost his son, Nguyen Cao Gia Bao (born in 2018) at the Bac Ninh City Lake Park.

Immediately afterwards, the Provincial Police coordinated with the Major Crimes Department, Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security and Tuyen Quang Provincial Police to fight and trace.

At 9:30 p.m. on August 22, Bac Ninh Provincial Police discovered and successfully rescued Nguyen Cao Gia Bao in Hamlet 16, Tan Long Commune, Yen Son District, Tuyen Quang Province.

At the same time, the kidnapper, Nguyen Thi Thu, was extradited to Bac Ninh Provincial Police.

In the early morning of August 23, the authorities brought Gia Bao back to Bac Ninh safely and gave him to his family.
