Prosecution of former Director and Deputy Director of Duc Lap Coffee Company
The defendants were prosecuted for embezzlement of socialist property and intentionally violating state regulations causing serious consequences.
On the afternoon of September 28, the Dak Nong Provincial Police Investigation Agency announced: The Provincial Police Investigation Agency decided to prosecute 4 suspects.The defendants include Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, born in 1960, residing in Tan Loi ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province, former Director of Dak Nong province Trade and Tourism Company; Mr. Tran Cong Tri, born in 1952, residing in Dak Mil town, Dak Mil district, former Director of Duc Lap coffee company;
Mr. Le Thanh Mao, born in 1951, residing in Dak Mil town, Dak Mil district, former Deputy Director of Duc Lap Coffee Company; Nguyen Hong Minh, residing in Dak Mil town, Dak Mil district, former Chief Accountant of Duc Lap Coffee Company, for embezzlement of socialist property and intentional violation of State regulations causing serious consequences; at the same time, the measure of prohibiting all four subjects from leaving their place of residence was applied to serve the investigation.
According to the initial investigation results of the Investigation Police Agency, Dak Nong Provincial Police: From 1997 to 1999, in their roles as Director, Deputy Director and Chief Accountant of Duc Lap Coffee Company, Tri, Mao and Minh colluded to keep the costs of exporting coffee of Duc Lap Coffee Company with a total amount of 950 million VND and then embezzled and divided it among themselves.
Regarding Nguyen Thanh Binh, during his time as Director of Dak Nong Province Trade and Tourism Company from 2005 to 2009, he intentionally violated State regulations, arbitrarily lent money to outsiders and used funds against principles, causing a loss of State funds of up to 4,250 billion VND. Both cases are being further investigated, clarified and strictly handled by the Provincial Police Investigation Agency according to the provisions of law./.
