Prosecution of Deputy Head of Natural Resources and Environment Department of Yen Thanh District

(Baonghean) -While the Len Co quarry had expired, the Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Thanh district (Nghe An) still deliberately carried out procedures to extend the mineral exploitation license, causing serious consequences: 18 deaths and 6 injuries.

According to the investigation results of the Nghe An Provincial Police Investigation Agency, in his responsibility as Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Thanh District, Mr. Hoang Thanh Long committed violations in inspecting, checking, and completing procedures to extend the mineral exploitation license for Chin Men Company Limited at Len Co quarry.

Currently, Mr. Long has been suspended from his position as Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Thanh district to serve the investigation.
