Prosecution of the case of violating the policy for meritorious people in Cat Van (Thanh Chuong)

(Baonghean) - Based on documents from the Nghe An Police Investigation Agency and Conclusion No. 1391/KL-UBND dated July 27, 2012 of the Thanh Chuong District People's Committee on the results of the inspection of payment of benefits to meritorious people, the Thanh Chuong District Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to prosecute the case of abusing position and power while performing official duties that occurred in Cat Van Commune (Thanh Chuong).

According to the investigation documents, from 2006 to July 2012, a number of officials of the Policy Payment Board of Cat Van Commune, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Chuong District, took advantage of the situation and violated the regulations, allowing 60 policy beneficiaries who had died to still receive regular and prolonged benefits and receive funeral expenses that were not in accordance with the regulations, causing a total loss of VND 403,639,000. The above violations not only caused damage to state assets but also had negative consequences for the implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines.

Currently, the investigation agency is continuing to consolidate the case file to prosecute the defendants related to the case.
