Prosecution of husband pouring gasoline on wife, causing child death, wife in critical condition

(Baonghean.vn)-On July 29, Colonel Cao Tien Mai, Chief of Nam Dan District Police (Nghe An) said that the investigation agency has decided to prosecute Tran Van Giang (25 years old, living in hamlet 5B, Nam Thanh commune, Nam Dan district) for murder.

As previously reported, on the evening of July 27, after coming home from drinking, Tran Van Giang had a conflict with his wife, Nguyen Thi Oanh Dam (22 years old). Angry with his wife, Giang took a bottle of gasoline available in the house, poured it on his wife and children, and then set them on fire.

As a result, both mother and child suffered severe burns, and the child died a few hours later. Ms. Dam was taken to the provincial hospital and then transferred to the National Burn Institute for emergency treatment. However, due to the severity of her injuries, today (July 29), the hospital allowed the family to take the victim home for care.

After the incident, Giang was arrested for investigation. The suspect has now been transferred to the Nghe An provincial police detention center.
