Prosecution of overturned truck that crushed 5 people to death in Hai Duong
Kim Thanh District Police (Hai Duong) has just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Hoang Xuan Hoa (born 1983, from Thanh Hoa province), the driver of the truck that overturned and crushed a group of 7 people waiting to cross National Highway 5 on the morning of July 23.
On the evening of July 24, the leader of Kim Thanh District Police (Hai Duong) said that the District Police Investigation Agency had decided to prosecute and detain Hoang Xuan Hoa (born in 1983, from Tho Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province) to investigate the act of violating traffic regulations causing particularly serious consequences that occurred the day before.

Previously, at around 6:04 a.m. on July 23, driver Hoang Xuan Hoa drove a truck with license plate 29H-15097 carrying water on the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway.
At km 63+300, the section passing through Cong Hoa commune (Kim Thanh, Hai Duong) the truck could not control its speed, hit the median strip and overturned, crushing 7 people waiting to cross the road.
The incident left 5 people dead, 2 injured, and the truck overturned on the highway. Immediately after the incident, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh assigned Mr. Nguyen Van The - Minister of Transport to go to the scene to coordinate with the People's Committee of Hai Duong province to visit and encourage the families of the victims, and direct the interdisciplinary forces to overcome the consequences.
