There is no such thing as Japan and Canada "banning" Vietnamese students from studying abroad.
In recent days, some websites have spread rumors that Canada and Japan have stopped accepting Vietnamese students. This information has caused confusion among many people, especially young people who are planning to study in these two countries.

The Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association both confirmed that the above information is completely false.

Over the years, the number of Vietnamese students studying in Canada and Japan has been steadily increasing. In 2017, Canada welcomed a record number of Vietnamese students and the trend continues to increase.
In Japan, according to data from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), in the 6-year period up to May 2016, the number of Vietnamese students studying in Japan increased 12 times, reaching 54,000 people.The number of Vietnamese students currently accounts for nearly a quarter of international students in Japan, second only to China.
Most recently, Kyodo News (Japan) announced that the number of Vietnamese students studying at schools in this country since May 2017 was 61,671 people, an increase of 14.6% compared to the previous year.
