No prosecution for traffic accident in Thanh Hoa

Colonel Le Trung Hieu, Chief of Staff, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, said that the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency is still in the process of investigating to determine the cause of the tragic accident in Thanh Hoa that killed 9 people and injured 5 others on Ho Chi Minh Road.

Accordingly, the basic fault was determined to be that of the passenger bus driver, who failed to control his speed. However, only through a specific investigation process can we determine the speed when the vehicle crossed the road and had an accident. Mr. Hieu said that it may be until the end of the week that the inter-sectoral agencies of Thanh Hoa province will be able to make a preliminary conclusion on the process leading to this tragic accident.

Thanh Hoa province has supported the deceased with 10 million VND, the injured with 3 million VND and exempted all medicine and hospital fees during hospitalization.

Because the bus driver died in the accident, the investigation agency will not prosecute the case. As for the truck driver, he will be subject to an administrative penalty, a fine of 4-6 million VND, a two-month suspension of his driver’s license for using an expired vehicle, and the vehicle will be confiscated.
