Pu Hoat Nature Reserve receives Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 24, Pu Hoat Nature Reserve held a ceremony to celebrate its 5th anniversary (2013-2018) and received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of Que Phong district and representatives of branches and units in the area.

On April 2, 2013, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1109/QD-UBND on converting Que Phong Protective Forest Management Board into Pu Hoat Nature Reserve Management Board (BTTN), under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. On June 23, 2013, Pu Hoat Nature Reserve officially came into operation.
Pu Hoat Nature Reserve has an area of 85,769.53 hectares, located on the administrative boundaries of 6 communes: Thong Thu, Dong Van, Tien Phong, Hanh Dich, Nam Giai and Tri Le of Que Phong district, Nghe An province. This is one of the areas in Nghe An province that is still biologically diverse.![]() |

After 5 years of establishment and operation, Pu Hoat Nature Reserve has identified 1,248 plant species of 603 genera, 174 families belonging to 5 phyla of higher plants. Of these, 94 species are listed in the Vietnam Red Book and 45 species are listed in the IUCN Red Book. There are 797 mammal species and subspecies belonging to 147 families, 48 orders. Research results have also confirmed that Pu Hoat Nature Reserve has the distribution of 362 bird species, 82 reptile species, 77 amphibian species, 37 butterfly species, and 2 moth species.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the achievements and acknowledged the great contributions of generations of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve over the past time.
At the same time, it is recommended that the staff of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve continue to promote the achieved results, strengthen the inspection and monitoring of forests at the root and promptly prevent the exploitation, trade, transportation of forest products and hunting of wild animals; proactively coordinate with domestic and foreign scientific organizations to effectively carry out scientific research activities.

On this occasion, authorized by Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, he presented Pu Hoat Nature Reserve with a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister and a congratulatory banner from the Provincial People's Committee; many collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee./.
