Vu Dinh Tien is a historical figure who made many great contributions to the Le - Trinh court during the Trinh - Nguyen conflict.

He was a talented general who experienced many battles and achieved many feats, creating a solid foundation for stabilizing the political situation in the South for more than a decade (1656 - 1669).

When the war in the South temporarily subsided, he was sent by the court to guard the North - a land where fierce battles always took place between the Mac Dynasty and the Le - Trinh Dynasty. However, with his talent and patriotic spirit, Vu Dinh Tien always fulfilled his mission, followed his ancestors' footsteps, maintained important areas, cared for the people, created a solid position for the Le - Trinh Dynasty and was recorded in history.

Vu Dinh Uyen is a descendant of Gia Quoc Cong Vu Van Mat. Although he did not have many illustrious achievements like his predecessors, with his talent and courage, intelligence and diligence, he gathered the people to join hands to improve nature, bringing a prosperous and stable life to the people.

Vu Van Mat Temple is a cultural place for the descendants of the Vu family, a place to worship the gods who have made great contributions to the restoration of the Le dynasty in Phu Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. The temple also preserves many ancient and precious artifacts such as genealogies, royal decrees, orders, diplomas, parallel sentences... These are original documents, the most convincing evidence contributing to helping future generations better understand the work of social organization and management in the feudal period while affirming the historical values that have existed for more than 200 years at the relic. The relic is a place where spiritual and cultural activities take place, the most typical of which is the ancestor worship ceremony. This is a meaningful cultural activity expressing the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" to honor the contributions of ancestors to the homeland and country.

The ancestor worship ceremony has been passed down through many generations by our ancestors and has contributed to creating cultural values imbued with indigenous identity, expressing the admiration of the people of the Northern Delta of Nghe An for the gods who have protected the people, enriching the cultural treasure of the locality in particular and of the nation in general.

Cultural values are also expressed through themes and typical carvings on wooden structures such as: "two dragons worshiping the moon", "vines transforming into dragons", "stylized chrysanthemums"... which are delicately and vividly expressed by ancient artisans, expressing both the aspiration to reach the values of truth, goodness and beauty and the noble humanity of the relic.

Mr. Vo Van Thu (Dong Lai hamlet, Phu Thanh commune) - a descendant of Gia Quoc Cong Vu Van Mat said: Promoting the patriotic spirit of Gia Quoc Cong Vu Van Mat, in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, Vo's descendants all joined the cadet army and the army. During the period of national renovation, the homeland of Vo's descendants always implemented the Party and State's policies and guidelines well. Currently, descendants in all parts of the country are successful, some are doctors, masters, engineers, doctors, teachers... even though they are far away, they still wholeheartedly turn to their ancestors with meaningful activities such as contributing to the construction of churches, mausoleums... Especially in the movement to build the New Rural Area, Vo's descendants have contributed their efforts and money to build their homeland Phu Thanh to develop more and more.

According to Decision 1017/QDUBND.VH dated April 1, 2011 of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee on: decentralization of management of historical and cultural relics and scenic spots in Nghe An province, Vu Van Mat church and tomb are under the direct management of Yen Thanh District People's Committee, Phu Thanh Commune People's Committee and Vu clan descendants. The relic is protected, managed and promoted well through regular restoration, repair, preservation of some tangible and intangible values, restoration of some traditional rituals such as sacrificial ceremonies, organizing tours for students in the area...

The relic is a place to worship "one of the heroes of the restoration" and two historical figures who made many contributions to the restoration of the Le Dynasty. The church is a place for spiritual and cultural activities of the people and descendants of the Vu clan in the area. Many valuable historical, cultural and artistic artifacts are still preserved here. On January 16, 2004, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 498/QD - UB.VX recognizing the church and tomb of Dinh Quan Cong Vu Van Mat in Phu Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.
