Kia is also "bustling" to prepare a car to compete with Ford EcoSport.
At the Guangzhou exhibition, Kia has just introduced the KX3 concept, with its size and engine clearly revealing the company's intention to enter the mini-crossover segment.

The KX3 has a design that is both familiar and strange, with a body that resembles a miniature Sorento, but has a completely different front end. Still using the typical Kia "tiger nose" grille, the grille border on the KX3 is made of chrome with a matte surface and is located below sharp LED headlights. Some details emphasize the off-road nature of the car such as the 4-wheel drive system, large ground clearance and roof rails.
Powering the KX3 is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Kia says it built the car's floor frame from ultra-high-strength steel, allowing it to achieve a five-star crash test rating.

Kia has not released interior photos, but the company promises that the KX3 will be “highly comfortable and luxurious,” with the latest in-car connectivity technology. If the response from visitors is positive, the company will move the car into mass production.
