Checking the records of beneficiaries of Agent Orange regime in Nghi Loc

(Baonghean) - Receiving the content reflected in the article "The painful story of Agent Orange in Nghi Loc" published in Nghe An newspaper on February 24, on February 27, the leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghi Loc district worked with the People's Committees of Nghi Quang, Nghi Thiet and Nghi Hop communes to clarify information about the subjects reflected in the newspaper.

On the afternoon of February 28, at the Nghi Quang Commune People's Committee, witnesses provided information about 3 people who showed signs of falsifying documents to receive Agent Orange benefits: Mr. Nguyen Hong Nho, enlisted on May 19, 1972, stationed in Hanoi until discharged in October 1975; Mr. Nguyen Duc Nha, enlisted in December 1972, completed training in the 249th Engineer Regiment, stationed in Thanh Chuong, Nghe An; Mr. Vo Si Niem, enlisted in 1963, was a Border Guard stationed in Quynh Luu until discharged (in 1971).


However, the records kept in the offices of the above individuals have some documents reflecting that they have worked in different regions to enjoy the Agent Orange regime according to regulations.


On March 2, 2012, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghi Loc district issued Document No. 04/TT requesting the People's Committee of Nghi Loc district to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team to check the records of the subjects that citizens and Nghe An newspaper reported to have a basis for handling.


Currently, the Department of Home Affairs is consulting with the Nghi Loc District People's Committee to decide to establish an interdisciplinary delegation to inspect the above content.
