Party inspection and discipline go ahead to pave the way

Looking back at the work of preventing and combating corruption in the period of 2012 - 2022, it can be affirmed that the work of preventing and combating corruption has increasingly gone into depth, made strong progress, achieved many specific, very important and comprehensive results, created high consensus in society, and truly "became an irreversible movement and trend".

The initial successes are clear, the important results have been pointed out, but the most important thing is that from the practical work of fighting corruption in our country in recent times, the authorities need to draw many valuable lessons and experiences, from which there will be more solutions to do better in the work of fighting corruption and negativity in the coming time.

The national conference to review the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity in the period of 2012-2022 was held on the morning of June 30.

Party inspection and discipline go first, paving the way

Reporting at the National Conference summarizing the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity in the period of 2012-2022, Mr. Tran Van Ron - Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee said that in the first 6 months of 2022 alone, this agency has established 18 inspection teams to detect signs of violations by Party organizations and Party members.

The inspection content focuses on prominent issues that cause social outrage such as: financial management, public assets of land, mineral resources, implementation of investment projects to purchase medical equipment; fight against smuggling, trade fraud...

During the inspection process, the Central Inspection Commission clearly demonstrated its mettle and determination to expand the scope and subjects of inspection from the grassroots level, thoroughly handling many complicated cases that have lasted for many terms, involving many levels, sectors, and localities, and handling them strictly and promptly, without forbidden areas or exceptions.

The inspections also pointed out shortcomings in mechanisms and policies, promptly reported and recommended to the Politburo, the Secretariat, and Party committees at all levels for direction, adjustment, supplementation, and amendment. This is also a new feature of inspection and supervision work.

Assessing that negative phenomena, corruption, waste, vested interests, abuse of power, and abuse of power are still serious at many levels and in many sectors, Mr. Tran Van Ron said that it is necessary to effectively implement Conclusion No. 21 of the 13th Party Central Committee, while at the same time stepping up the fight against corruption, negativity, and waste to maintain political security, order, and social safety.

Overcoming loopholes and inadequacies in mechanisms, policies and laws in many areas, including some hot areas today such as: asset valuation, auction, securities, and issuance of corporate bonds.

According to the Standing Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Commission, it is necessary to strictly implement regulations on exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members, especially leaders; strengthen management, tighten discipline and administrative discipline, review and clarify the State management responsibility of collectives and individuals, especially leaders, to prevent corruption and negative cases and incidents in the sectors, fields, agencies and units under their responsibility and management...

According to Mr. Tran Van Ron, Party inspection and discipline have been and are taking the lead in the work of Party building and rectification. This also requires Party committees, Party organizations and Inspection Committees at all levels to strengthen inspection and supervision work, identifying this as an important task, carried out regularly, continuously, resolutely, persistently, without complacency or contentment with the results achieved.

Every cadre and party member must reposition themselves.

From a local perspective, Mr. Phan Van Mai - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that in order to improve the effectiveness in detecting and handling corruption and negative cases in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will focus on disseminating to leaders at all levels, especially heads of internal affairs agencies, the leadership and direction viewpoints, tasks and solutions in detecting and handling corruption cases.

Continue to put the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's moral example and lifestyle into practice, regularly and substantially, in conjunction with continuing to present the action program when receiving the assignment of the cadres, considering this a political commitment to the Party and the people, and an honor for the cadres.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that leaders, heads of Party committees and internal affairs agencies must supervise and urge the handling of corruption cases and cases of officials of their agencies and units, focusing on preventing and combating corruption and negativity in functional agencies. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of sectors, fields and localities where corruption and negativity are likely to arise; continue to inspect and supervise internal affairs agencies in the prevention and combat of economic and official corruption, and consider handling responsibilities if there are violations...

“We will also promote the direction of the City Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity, in order to focus on effective leadership and direction of anti-corruption work in the area. In particular, the city focuses on reviewing and overcoming loopholes and shortcomings, implementing preventive solutions, and doing a good job of coordinating, inspecting, and urging the handling of cases and cases,” said Mr. Phan Van Mai.

Mobilizing people's strength in preventing and fighting corruption and negativity

On that basis, focus on completing the Project on organizational structure, apparatus, functions and tasks of the Central Agency of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to submit to the Politburo for consideration and approval, including a specialized Committee to monitor the work of supervision, social criticism, and prevention and combat of corruption and negativity.
