(Baonghean.vn) - On July 8, 2014, Nghe An Provincial Police held a conference to review the work of ensuring security and order in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year. Major General Nguyen Xuan Lam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department chaired the conference.

In the first 6 months of the year, closely following the policies of the Party, the State, the Ministry of Public Security, the Party Committee, the government and the proposed work program, the police units in the province have focused on drastically implementing many plans and measures to handle and resolve complicated issues arising in terms of security and order, ensuring good security of the border, sea routes, and key targets... In particular, in the face of the complicated developments in the East Sea affecting security and order, the Provincial Police have synchronously deployed measures, proactively grasped the situation, mobilized the masses, prevented protests from taking place that disrupted security and order in the area, and ensured that foreign-invested enterprises could operate normally.

Crime prevention work has been strengthened and directed resolutely, arresting many dangerous subjects, fighting and eliminating many criminal hotspots and gangs... Thanks to that, security and order in the area have been ensured, crime has been controlled, the rate of investigation and solving cases has been high at 84%, of which serious cases reached 100%. In particular, the fight against drug crimes has been highly effective with 396 cases, 522 subjects arrested, more than 34kg of heroin seized, and 4 drug trafficking gangs using hot weapons in the border area of ​​Tuong Duong district have been eliminated... Traffic order and safety has had many positive changes, traffic accidents have decreased in all 3 criteria compared to the same period in 2013; all aspects of state management of security and order have been effectively implemented, serving well the work of preventing and fighting against crime; the movement of the whole people to protect national security has been promoted in conjunction with the criteria of ensuring security and order to serve the construction of new rural areas.

With the achievements in the first 6 months of the year, Nghe An Police had 54 groups, 7 groups honored as good people, 130 groups, and 323 individuals recommended for awards at all levels.

At the conference, delegates also focused on discussing, analyzing and clarifying key tasks for the last 6 months of the year, focusing on doing a good job of grasping the situation, promoting prevention and combating all types of crimes, restraining and reducing crimes, and resolutely not allowing organized crime to form...

Collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the first 6 months of the year received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security.

On this occasion, authorized by the Prime Minister, Major General Nguyen Xuan Lam, Director of the Provincial Police Department, awarded the title of National Emulation Fighter to Colonel Tran Sy Phang, Head of Nghi Loc District Police; collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in combat and force building in the first 6 months of the year were commended by the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial People's Committee.
