(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 18, in Vinh City, the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee held a meeting to hear the results of internal affairs work in June and discuss the implementation of tasks for July 2014.
Comrade Nguyen Van Thong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee chaired the meeting. Also attending were Comrade Thai Van Hang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of a number of sectors under the internal affairs sector.

According to the authorities, in June, there were 464 delegations/2,322 people coming to Nghe An for investment cooperation, education and tourism, an increase of 164 delegations compared to the previous month. Although no major incidents occurred, there were some complicated and worrying signs. Along the border, some Mong people from Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts illegally migrated to Laos to do business. In the outskirts, reactionary forces showed signs of consolidating their organizations to conduct bandit and sabotage activities.
On the sea route, some fishing boats of Quynh Luu fishermen fishing in the Gulf of Tonkin were chased away by Chinese ships equipped with weapons and distributed leaflets threatening to ban fishing near the area where China illegally placed the HD 981 drilling rig. In the field of social order, there were 84 crimes, down 17 cases compared to the previous month, injuring 25 people, causing property damage worth 1.6 billion VND; 75 cases/92 drug criminals were discovered and arrested, up 2 cases compared to the previous month; 35 cases/36 subjects violating environmental laws were discovered; 27 traffic accidents occurred, 39 cases/120 subjects gambling; 22 forest fires occurred in 5 districts, causing damage to nearly 70 hectares of forest.
In addition to the advice of the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard and the Judicial sector, during the month, the investigation agencies initiated investigations into 145 cases/213 defendants, transferred to the Procuracy to propose prosecution of 138 cases/185 defendants; inspected 266 crime reports, decided to prosecute 231 cases/491 defendants; the Courts at 2 levels resolved 1,032 cases/a total of 1,843 cases accepted, notably including key cases that received public attention; the work of enforcing civil judgments and inspection, handling after inspection and resolving complaints and denunciations continued to receive attention.

Attending the conference, comrade Thai Van Hang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that the internal affairs meeting is very important, being the most accurate information channel for provincial leaders to manage and operate society. Based on the practical situation, internal affairs agencies need to consider and advise the province to build an interest rate support mechanism to help fishermen borrow capital to build new boats to go offshore and contribute to the implementation of national sovereignty at sea; continue to closely monitor the security situation and religious activities to promptly advise the province on solutions; pay attention to the legitimate and reasonable religious activities of parishioners; functional agencies must closely coordinate with localities to strictly handle violations and disregard for legal discipline; pay attention to the work of receiving people, resolving complaints and denunciations, especially the group of prominent cases causing mass lawsuits in the fields of market management, land management of cooperatives and compensation and site clearance.
At the conference, representatives of the sectors under the internal affairs sector provided additional information and situations related to the implementation of their tasks to connect and coordinate with other sectors in handling and implementing tasks.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee, highly appreciated the information provided by the representatives of the sectors; at the same time, he noted that the sectors that report to the Committee need to be more specific, focus on the main points, highlight the achievements in addition to the existing problems so that the Committee can plan to urge and assign tasks for the sectors to coordinate in handling. Receiving recommendations and comments from the representatives of the sectors, the Provincial Internal Affairs Committee will synthesize and complete them into tasks in July to urge implementation and submit them to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for handling./.
