The KUNA news agency said that Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah issued the decree after the opposition boycotted the election.

According to Kuwait's Constitution, Sheikh Jaber, who has served as prime minister since November 2011, needs to form a cabinet before the first session of the new parliament, scheduled for December 16.

Earlier on December 3, the old cabinet of this Gulf country resigned./.
