Part 2: Tricks through 'award ceremonies'
As mentioned, the subjects awarded the "Le Dinh Luong Human Rights Award" are mostly those who are serving prison sentences for crimes against the Vietnamese State, but through the "awarding" times, Viet Tan promoted them as "democrats", "fighters for human rights"...

The plot to attract, incite and create illusions for opponents was demonstrated by Viet Tan right at the first "Le Dinh Luong Human Rights Award" in 2018. Viet Tan awarded the award to Tran Thi Nga, a person who was sentenced by the People's Court of Ha Nam province to 9 years in prison and 5 years of probation for "propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam". Before being sentenced, Nga used her personal Blog, Facebook and YouTube accounts to post videos with content distorting the guidelines and policies of the Party and State of Vietnam, defaming the people's government and propagating reactionary ideology. Viet Tan's actions in awarding the "human rights award" and calling Tran Thi Nga a "democrat" were not only cunning but also inciting and slandering the human rights situation in Vietnam.

In 2019, Viet Tan awarded the “Group to help prisoners of conscience 50k”, led by Nguyen Thuy Hanh. According to documents from the authorities, this group is actually a small organization in the system of reactionary groups established by Viet Tan to seek and attract financial support for anti-Vietnam activities. Viet Tan’s awarding of this group is no different than “praising the cat for its long tail”, aiming to expand its reputation in the hope of receiving financial support from organizations and individuals with anti-Vietnam ideology.
In 2020, the “Le Dinh Luong Human Rights Award” was presented to Phan Kim Khanh, who was sentenced to 6 years in prison by the People's Court of Thai Nguyen province for “propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam”. At the trial, Khanh admitted that he was young, naive, and had little understanding of politics and the law, so he was lured and incited by reactionary elements to violate the law; however, Viet Tan painted Khanh as an image to “educate the younger generation” and justify his acts of sabotage against the country.

In 2021, when Vietnam had overcome the Covid-19 pandemic and was developing stably, Viet Tan again incited and promoted a human rights award with the theme "patriotic solidarity during the pandemic" to "honor" priest Dang Huu Nam, who had been "suspended" by the Vinh Diocese since June 17, 2020, not allowed to participate in pastoral activities. Previously, Dang Huu Nam had committed many wrongdoings in pastoral activities, inciting, inciting, and enticing people to participate in activities opposing the people's government. However, Viet Tan promoted that this award was to "contribute further to the movement of people helping people".

In 2022, with the aim of inciting "anti-China, pro-US", exaggerating "China risks" in order to disrupt the situation in Vietnam, Viet Tan took the theme of the award as "Protecting sovereignty against China risks". The awardee this time, Nguyen Nang Tinh, is serving an 11-year prison sentence for "Making, storing, disseminating or propagating information, documents, and items against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam". Tinh was originally a teacher at Nghe An College of Culture and Arts. Taking advantage of his cover as a music teacher, through his personal Facebook page, Tinh often promoted songs with provocative content, opposing the government, undermining ideology, distorting the policies of the Party and State, defaming the people's government; distorting history; smearing the leader... But the terrorist organization Viet Tan "turned black into white", praising "Nguyen Nang Tinh as a patriotic teacher. For many years he continuously opposed politics by supporting political prisoners, spreading news on Facebook about the Formosa disaster, expressing his opposition to the Special Economic Zone Bill...", to award Tinh the prize.

In 2023, Viet Tan took the theme "75 years of international human rights - freedom, equality and justice for Vietnam" to "award" Truong Van Dung, who was recently sentenced to 6 years in prison by the High People's Court in Hanoi for "Propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam". At the "award" livestream, Viet Tan advocated: "Mr. Truong Van Dung is known to the domestic and international public as a courageous and passionate activist for democracy and human rights. The 6-year prison sentence did not erode the spirit of the human rights activist. In prison, he continued to speak out against the human rights violations of prison guards with fellow prisoners of conscience."

Through the "award ceremonies" livestreamed on social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube and news sites of reactionary organizations, it can be seen that Viet Tan constantly uses social media channels to spread false information about the human rights situation in Vietnam. They turn the "award ceremonies" into forums to incite and slander the human rights situation in Vietnam, trying to create a media wave to criticize the Vietnamese Government. With the topics set for each "award ceremony", it shows that Viet Tan also does not hesitate to take advantage of social and economic issues to incite riots and destabilize the situation.

A basic tactic of Viet Tan is to build an image of reactionaries that is completely opposite to the reality. Instead of being considered lawbreakers and national security threats, these subjects are glorified as "human rights activists" and "victims of repression". This is aimed at changing the international community's perception of the human rights situation in Vietnam, thereby attracting external support and putting pressure on the Vietnamese Government.
Another dangerous plot of Viet Tan is to attract and incite disaffected people, especially young people. By creating a “heroic” image for reactionary elements, Viet Tan hopes to attract people with opposing thoughts, thereby creating a new force to continue its subversive activities. This is also one of the tricks for Viet Tan to propagate, entice, and entice gullible, money-hungry people in the country to follow and become lackeys for this organization.

Viet Tan’s tricks of awarding “Human Rights Awards” are not only a distortion of the truth but also an act of inciting and slandering the human rights situation in Vietnam. Through this, they constantly seek to attract and incite opponents, creating a false image of the human rights situation in Vietnam in order to attract attention and financial support from organizations and individuals with anti-government ideology. Therefore, we must be vigilant and alert against Viet Tan’s tricks, and resolutely fight against the plots and sabotage actions of this organization, protecting the stability and development of the country.
