Signing of memorandum of understanding on cooperation in developing high-tech agriculture
(Baonghean.vn) -To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations (September 1973-September 2013), on the afternoon of March 27, under the witness of representatives of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association, Vinh City People's Committee and a Japanese business delegation signed a memorandum of understanding on implementing a project to support sustainable agricultural production using high technology.
Attending the signing ceremony were representatives of Vinh City enterprises and cooperative leaders of 4 units in the project.
The memorandum of understanding on cooperation to support sustainable agricultural production between Japanese enterprises and Vinh City clearly states: The project will be piloted on an area of 7-10 hectares in one of the communes: Nghi An, Nghi Duc, Nghi Kim, Nghi Lien. The cooperation content on Vinh City's side, in addition to establishing a steering committee, establishing a cooperative, will prepare a location for the two sides to agree on implementing the pilot project. The Japanese side, including enterprises and cooperative members, will send representatives to the steering committee, coordinate with Vietnam to mobilize support from Jica capital to implement the pilot, provide information, transfer and provide technical guidance.
During this working trip to Vinh City, the Japanese business delegation also surveyed the agricultural areas on the outskirts of Vinh City to find ways to support investment in funding and machinery suitable for the conditions of irrigation infrastructure and farming practices in Vietnam.
