Signing of memorandum of understanding to open direct flights between Vietnam and India
On September 15 in Hanoi, within the framework of the State visit of the President of the Republic of India to Vietnam, under the witness of President Truong Tan Sang and President of India Pranab Mukherjee and representatives of the two countries' leaders, Mr. Pham Ngoc Minh - General Director of Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) and Mr. Naresh Goyal - Chairman of Jet Airways International India signed a Memorandum of Understanding on exploitation and cooperation to promote direct flights between Vietnam and India, adding some important contents to the overall cooperation agreement between the two airlines.
Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines and Jet Airways will continue to expand their codeshare cooperation, providing customers with convenient connecting flights between India and Vietnam via international gateways in Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong on the two airlines' shared flight network.

Specifically: Vietnam Airlines will cooperate on Jet Airways flights on the route between Singapore - Mumbai/Delhi/Chennai, Bangkok/Hong Kong - Mumbai/Delhi and Jet Airways' newly opened direct route Delhi - Ho Chi Minh City via Bangkok.
Jet Airways will codeshare on Vietnam Airlines flights between Singapore/Bangkok/Hong Kong – Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam Airlines' newly opened route Singapore – Phu Quoc.
In addition, the two airlines committed to closely coordinate in trade promotion activities to launch the aviation market between Vietnam and India, preparing the best premise for the plan to exploit direct flights between the two countries.
