Signing of minutes of agreement on progress of Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Project
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 11, the People's Committee of Nghe An province had a working session with the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group and signed a memorandum of understanding on the progress of the Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Project.
Attending the meeting on behalf of Nghe An province were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant levels and sectors.
On behalf of Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group, there were comrades: Le Minh Chuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors; Dang Thanh Hai - General Director; Nguyen Chien Thang - Member of the Board of Directors; Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director and representatives of Vietnam Electricity Corporation.

The Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant Project was assigned by the Government to the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group as the investor in Document No. 2798 dated April 29, 2009. The project includes the Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant with 2 units, capacity of 1,200 MW, total investment of about 1.8 billion USD. The project is included in the detailed planning for the construction of Dong Hoi Industrial Park (Hoang Mai Town), with the Government's approval to adjust the schedule to put into operation in 2020.

After discussing, discussing and agreeing to resolve difficulties and obstacles in the process of preparing to implement the proposed project, recommendations of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on the progress of project implementation. Accordingly, the Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant project will be ground-breaking before October 10, 2015, construction will begin before June 30, 2016 and the plant will be put into operation in 2020.

At the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed: This is a key project of the province, therefore, the investor needs to soon complete the detailed planning of the factory site before August 15 and focus on speeding up the progress of putting Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant into operation before 2020. Nghe An province will coordinate and create all conditions for the investor to implement the project well according to the commitment.
