Signing of the minutes of agreement on the construction of national border markers between Nghe An and Bolykhamsay (Laos)

(Baonghean.vn) -Concluding a two-day field survey trip on October 4-5, this morning, October 6, the Border Marker Planting Steering Committee of Nghe An and Bolikhamxay provinces (Laos) signed a memorandum of understanding to build marker 460 at Thanh Thuy border gate (Thanh Chuong) and marker 443 at Cao Veu border gate (Anh Son).

Participating in the signing ceremony, on the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Thai Van Hang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Border Marker Planting Steering Committee. On the side of Bolikhamxay province (Laos), there was comrade Kham Bun-Nat Xay-Nhanon - Deputy Governor, Head of the Provincial Border Marker Planting Steering Committee of Bolikhamxay province.



The two sides signed a memorandum on the construction of national border markers.

Accordingly, for the 460 major landmark at Thanh Thuy border gate - located at the junction between Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province and Nam On district, Bolikhamxay province (Laos), the two sides agreed to build works within 100m from the border line, including: National gate, Border control station, animal and plant quarantine station, parking lot, weighing station and some other auxiliary works according to the planning. For the 443 intermediate landmark at Cao Veu border gate - located at the junction between Thong Phi La district, Xay Cham Phon, Bolikhamxay province (Laos) and Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An province, the two sides agreed on the location of the landmark according to the results of the bilateral survey of the Vietnam - Laos Joint Committee previously; expand the area, lower the height compared to the determined landmark location, to ensure the landscape; build a number of projects within 100 meters from the border and agree to let Nghe An province exploit and use water resources on the Lao side to supply the border gate area...

With the contents agreed upon and signed by both sides, they will be submitted to the two Chairmen of the Vietnam-Laos Joint Border Marker Planting Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Construction and the National Border Committee of the two countries for consideration and approval to soon implement and ensure the progress of the marker planting work and perform other related tasks, in order to contribute to building a peaceful and stable border between the two countries, creating favorable conditions for trade, investment and strengthening the solidarity and friendship between the two sides for mutual development.
