Signing of the program to review the implementation of policies for people with meritorious services

(Baonghean.vn) - On March 7, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a signing ceremony for a joint program to review the implementation of preferential policies for people with revolutionary contributions in the province. Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Program to coordinate a general review of policy implementation for people with revolutionary contributionsin 2014-2015 by the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee in coordinationto fully and comprehensively evaluate the implementation of preferential policies for people with meritorious services, focusing on 7 subjects: martyrs and their families; heroic Vietnamese mothers; war invalids; sick soldiers; resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals; people with meritorious services to the revolution; former youth volunteers of the resistance. Accordingly, in 2014-2015, review and clarify the list of meritorious services and families of meritorious services who have enjoyed, have not enjoyed, or have not fully enjoyed the current preferential policies of the State; detect unreasonable issues in policies and implementation of preferential policies for people with meritorious services.

At the ceremony, the two agencies agreed on the content of the coordination program. Accordingly, from April to May 2014, a pilot review will be conducted in each district, city, and town; from May to July 2014, the remaining communes, wards, and towns will be reviewed, with the results announced before July 27, 2014. From August 2014 to April 2015, the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs and competent authorities will resolve policies in accordance with state regulations for meritorious people who have not yet enjoyed or have not fully enjoyed preferential policies.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Xuan Dai emphasized: preferential policies for people with meritorious services are one of the important policies of the Party and State, contributing to political stability and social security, therefore the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs need to be serious and active in coordinating to conduct a general review, promote and strengthen the combined strength, the leadership of Party committees at all levels, the responsibility of authorities at all levels, socio-political organizations, unions, and the contribution of the whole society to care for and stabilize the lives of people with meritorious services.
