Signing of cooperation between Nghe An Provincial People's Procuracy and Xieng Khouang Provincial People's Procuracy (Laos)

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of June 26, in Vinh City, the People's Procuracy of Nghe An Province held a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement with the People's Procuracy of Xieng Khouang Province (Lao People's Democratic Republic). The signing ceremony was chaired by comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Provincial Party Committee member, Chief of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An Province. On the Lao side, comrade Viengxay Sivilay - Chief of the People's Procuracy of Xieng Khouang Province was the head of the delegation.

During the visit and working period in Nghe An from June 25 to 28, the two sides held a discussion, informed each other about the socio-economic development situation, crime situation and work results of the People's Procuracy of the two provinces in the first 6 months of the year; results of coordination in fighting against crime in the border areas of the two provinces; exchanged experiences in practicing the right to prosecute and supervise judicial activities of each unit.

To further strengthen the cooperative relationship and practically celebrate the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Year 2012, the People's Procuracies of Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces signed a cooperation agreement, including 5 contents: Continue to strengthen friendly cooperation in the spirit of the memorandum of understanding between the Supreme People's Procuracy of the two countries; Annually organize delegations of officials to visit and study, exchange work experiences and issues of mutual concern to the People's Procuracies of the two localities; Regularly exchange information and coordinate with each other in the fight against crime, especially drug and human trafficking crimes related to border areas, fully implement judicial assistance activities; Regularly exchange experiences and basic issues on international law in the integration process; Actively advise the local Party Committees of each province to strengthen the position and role, creating favorable conditions for the People's Procuracies of the two provinces to operate smoothly.

Joining the delegation with the Xieng Khouang Provincial Procuracy was the Xayaburi Provincial Procuracy (Laos). Within the framework of the working trip, the Laotian provincial delegation also had cultural and sports exchange activities with the Nghe An Provincial People's Procuracy.
