Signing of a joint plan to educate juvenile prisoners

(Baonghean.vn) –This morning (October 28), at Prison No. 6 - Ministry of Public Security, the signing ceremony and approval of the decision to establish a Steering Committee to implement the coordination plan "Educating juvenile prisoners and helping them reintegrate into the community in the period 2011-2015" between the Youth Union of Nghe An province and Prison No. 6, General Department VIII - Ministry of Public Security.

Attending and witnessing the signing ceremony were representatives of the leaders of Department VIII - Ministry of Public Security, representatives of Nghe An provincial police, leaders of the authorities of Hanh Lam and Thanh My communes (Thanh Chuong) and more than 500 prisoners representing 1,500 juvenile prisoners serving their sentences at Prison No. 6.

The signing program aims to promote the role and responsibility of all levels of the association, member organizations of the Provincial Youth Union and the youth of the whole province to care, share and closely coordinate with Prison No. 6 in the work of educating and reforming prisoners, helping them reintegrate into the community, become honest people, useful to society, contributing to reducing the rate of re-offending the law.

According to the plan, in the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will mobilize member organizations such as: Youth Development Support Center, Vocational Education Center, Job Introduction Center in Phuc Son Commune (Anh Son); Command Board of Youth Volunteer Forces - Construction and Development... to coordinate with the Youth Union of Prison No. 6 to organize consulting activities, legal and psychological assistance, life skills education; establish teams, groups of young volunteer doctors to participate in health consulting, medical examination and treatment for young prisoners.
