Signing of cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment

(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, September 28, at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment held a signing ceremony for cooperation in the period 2012-2016 between the two units.

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of provincial agencies, representatives of the Mass Mobilization Committee, leaders and deputy heads of departments of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Representatives of the two units spoke to evaluate the results of the implementation of the coordination program in the past time, the working relationship between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. The outstanding tasks are the propaganda and mobilization of environmental protection, raising awareness of self-management, protecting natural resources; preserving and protecting the living environment in the locality, implementing well the policies and guidelines on natural resources and environment. Strengthening the inspection and supervision of the implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines on natural resources and environment. Timely reporting to the Party Committee and authorities to handle violations coordinated smoothly at all levels.

However, besides the results achieved in the coordination work in the past time, there are still some limitations such as the work of propaganda, mobilization, dissemination of policies, regulations on resources and environment for people in some remote areas is still limited, so the efficiency is still low, the coordination is sometimes still formal, the replication of the model is still slow...

The two units discussed and drew lessons from practice and proposed five contents of the coordination program: Continue to promote propaganda and mobilization to raise awareness for each citizen and enterprise to grasp and strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies on management, use of natural resources, environmental protection, and response to climate change; Continue to replicate environmental protection models, exploit and rationally use natural resources, land, minerals, forests, islands, etc.; conserve and develop biodiversity; Propagate and mobilize people to promote their right to mastery, actively and voluntarily participate in building and implementing community conventions and covenants towards rational use of natural resources, environmental protection, and response to climate change; Strengthen the launching of self-management movements, people's supervision, promptly resolve disputes, contradictions, and conflicts of interest in resource use, environmental pollution, contributing to promoting socialization. Coordinate to innovate the way of organizing training, seminars, and exchanges to improve professional awareness, skills, etc.
