On October 17, the Director of the Binh Duong Provincial Tax Department issued a decision to suspend Mr. Tran Van Phuoc (49 years old, head of the Dau Tieng District Tax Department) from work to serve the investigation of his car crash that killed two people on October 3.

Mr. Phuoc was also suspended from Party activities and the position of district committee member of Dau Tieng district.

Accident scene

Previously, on the afternoon of October 3, on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street (Dau Tieng town), Mr. Phuoc drove a car and hit Ms. Tran Bich Phuc (33 years old) who was sweeping the street. Many witnesses said that although the victim was caught under the car, the car continued to move forward. After driving about 200 meters, the car hit Mr. Luu Tan Nhon (living in Long An) who was cycling and selling lottery tickets, causing both the person and the car to be thrown onto the hood and onto the street. The car was said to be going at a fairly high speed and stopped a short distance before stopping, but both victims were dead.

Binh Duong police are consolidating the case file.
