Celebrating 10 years of establishment of the Center for Post-Drug Addiction Management
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 21, Nghe An Province's Drug Addiction Management Center held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Bang Toan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; comrade Vi Van Dinh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Nghia Dan District Party Committee.
Nghe An Province Drug Addiction Management Center was established on September 20, 2005, formerly the Nghia Dan District Drug Addiction Vocational Training Management Center.

The center has the task of receiving, managing, treating, educating, persuading, and rehabilitating drug addicts' behavior and personality, helping them gradually give up drugs, return to their families, and reintegrate into the community.
Up to now, 1035 students have completed the drug addiction treatment program at the center. On average, each year, the center examines, treats and dispenses drugs to 3215 people; coordinates well with medical centers in the district and Thai Hoa town, providing ARV treatment and dispensing drugs to 235 people with sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS.
The center also organizes specialized education classes according to the curriculum of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, integrated into cultural exchange activities, arts, physical education and sports; The center coordinated to organize 7 vocational training classes for nearly 300 students with short-term vocational training classes such as beekeeping classes, veterinary classes, sugarcane growing classes, incense making classes...
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Bang Toan acknowledged the center's contributions in managing, treating, detoxifying and rehabilitating drug addicts throughout the province over the past years.
On this occasion, the Center was awarded the "Emulation Flag" by the Provincial People's Committee, and 6 individuals with achievements in building and developing the center were awarded certificates of merit.
