Celebrating 37 years of Truong Sa liberation
On April 16, the collective of cadres, soldiers and people of Sinh Ton island commune, Truong Sa district (Khanh Hoa) solemnly held a rally to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the liberation of Truong Sa archipelago (April 29, 1975).
Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Son Hai; Rear Admiral Tran Dinh Xuyen, Deputy Commander of the Navy.
37 years ago, with the spirit of speed, daring, and surprise, the Vietnam Navy launched an attack, successively liberating the islands of Song Tu Tay, Son Ca, Nam Yet, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa..., contributing significantly to the victory of the campaign to completely liberate the South and unify the country in the spring of 1975.

With the motto "Island is home, sea is homeland", in recent years, the army and people of Truong Sa have overcome difficulties, worked hard, thanks to which the appearance of Truong Sa island district has changed every day, becoming more spacious and solid.
Many projects such as wharves, airports, docks, lighthouses, hydrometeorological stations, clean energy power supply systems, cultural works... have been invested in and built on the archipelago, not only serving national defense but also creating conditions for the military and people of Truong Sa to develop the economy and enhance the capacity to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the fatherland.
Besides, the army and people of Truong Sa district are also a solid support for fishermen nationwide in the process of exploiting seafood, such as supporting fresh water, fuel, rescue...
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Son Hai, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, requested Truong Sa district to focus on improving its ability to manage and protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands; effectively implement the national target program, focusing on implementing the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (10th tenure) on "Vietnam's Marine Strategy to 2020"; take good care of the lives of soldiers and people on the island, actively support and rescue fishermen in the process of catching seafood in Truong Sa fishing grounds, contributing to the province's innovation.
With these achievements, the Party and State have awarded many noble titles to the army and people of Truong Sa district, in which in 1983, Truong Sa was honored with the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces".
