Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of December 3, Nghe An Vocational Training Center for the Disabled organized a ceremony to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3). Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial Child Protection Center and many units, organizations, individuals, along with all staff, teachers and students of the center.

Nghe An Vocational Training Center for the Disabled is responsible for organizing management, career guidance, vocational training, rehabilitation and job counseling for the disabled in the province. In addition, the Center also carries out the task of developing early intervention education and community integration education. Over the years, the Center has constantly innovated management and vocational training methods to gradually improve the quality of teaching and learning. In addition, many cultural, artistic, physical and sports activities have been organized for the children to gradually participate in to gradually improve their material and spiritual life, helping them integrate into the community. In the 2012-2013 school year, the Center managed 220 students with disabilities, including hearing impairment, visual impairment, mental retardation, motor disabilities and multiple disabilities. Students are aged from 10 to 20. Currently, the Center teaches both cultural and vocational training, with occupations such as: civil electricity, industrial sewing, fashion sewing, embroidery, information technology, fine art carpentry, civil carpentry. After graduation, 65% of students have jobs with an income of 1.5 million VND or more.

To celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities this year, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Agent Orange Fund, OSC Study Abroad Consulting and Translation Joint Stock Company and a number of organizations and individuals presented gifts with a total amount of over 15 million VND.
