Ky Son: Having a pontoon bridge - both happy and worried

(Baonghean.vn) The suspension bridge over the Nam Mo River in Muong Xen Town, Ky Son District was swept away by the historic flood in June. Currently, a temporary pontoon bridge has been built by the Ky Son District People's Committee using the district's flood disaster recovery fund with an investment of more than 600 million VND.

Thousands of people from block 4 of Muong Xen town, students and teachers of 4 schools (Ky Son Ethnic Minority High School, District Ethnic Minority Secondary School, District Continuing Education Center and District Vocational Training Center) cross the bridge every day, the travel distance is shortened by 12 kilometers compared to when there was no pontoon bridge.

The bridge is open to traffic, the People's Committee of Ky Son district has assigned people to be on duty to direct traffic during rush hour and there is a sign of traffic rules posted at the beginning of the bridge. For people with awareness, it is not a concern, but the most worrying thing is when students leave school, they often play around on the bridge, easily falling into the river. Therefore, parents as well as teachers need to regularly propagate and educate children about traffic awareness on the bridge.
