Ky Son overcomes the consequences of flash floods

(Baonghean) -According to the report of the Office of the Flood and Storm Prevention Command of Nghe An province, on the evening of August 24 and 25, heavy rains caused flash floods in Bac Ly and My Ly communes, Ky Son district (Nghe An).

Consequences: 3 houses collapsed, 10 houses were flooded, 8 houses suffered serious landslides, 80 small hydroelectric plants were swept away, 13 buffalos, cows, and pigs were swept away... By 10:00 a.m. on August 26, the traffic system from Muong Long to My Ly and from Huoi Tu to Bac Ly had many landslides causing traffic jams. Although the flash flood occurred at night, there were no human casualties.

Currently, Ky Son district has mobilized police, military, Border Guard Station 527, youth union and militia forces in unaffected communes to participate in overcoming the consequences, rebuilding collapsed houses, and families whose houses were swept away are arranged to live in groups with unaffected houses. Ky Son district traffic department and local authorities are concentrating on dredging and filling up landslide-affected road sections to ensure the road is cleared as soon as possible.
