(Baonghean.vn) - Ky Son Commune (Tan Ky) has only achieved 12/19 criteria of new rural areas, so the local government and people are actively investing to complete the targets of new rural construction.
Ms. Le Thi Hong in Hamlet 2, Ky Son Commune said: "Implementing the movement of donating land to build roads launched by the commune, my family voluntarily demolished the fence and built a 1 meter back to expand the roads with the whole hamlet. In the hamlet, there are also many households who voluntarily donated land to build roads, so now the roads in the hamlet are very spacious and concreted." The movement of donating land to build roads has been responded to very positively by the people in the commune, currently there are 550 households donating land with an area of 13,200 m2. In 2014, with the support of 220 tons of cement from the province, Ky Son was able to build an additional 1.4 km of concrete road and in 2015, it will continue to concretize an additional 1 km of road.
Concreting canals to serve drainage and agricultural production is of interest to Ky Son commune. Recently, the commune has invested 850 million VND to repair the canal system and mobilize people to participate in dredging intra-field canals, investing in irrigation systems... Currently, the commune is implementing a project to invest in a canal system (funded by the province) to build a 3 km long concrete canal.
Currently, in Ky Son commune, many technical infrastructure works are being built to serve the new rural program. Mr. Le Van Dinh, Chairman of Ky Son Commune People's Committee said: "Through investment capital from the state and people's contributions, up to now, the total investment capital for new rural construction is 25 billion VND, of which people contributed 2.5 billion VND and thanks to that, the commune has built many works such as: Schools, Medical stations, Cultural houses... Currently, the commune is actively working to complete the criteria for new rural construction in the coming time".
