By the end of February, the election implementation in Ky Son district had basically completed all related contents according to the schedule. The district is determined to direct the election to ensure safety and compliance with the law, so that election day is truly a festival for the people.

According to Mr. Vi Hai Thanh - Secretary of the District Party Committee, immediately after receiving the election of deputies to the 13th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2011 - 2016 term, the Standing Committee of the Ky Son District Party Committee held a conference of district-wide cadres to deploy the election work.

Due to the inconvenient transportation network to the communes, the District Standing Committee contacted the Border Guard stations located in the area to inform the localities to receive Directive 50 of the Politburo on the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at 3 levels.

Ky Son district will carry out the election in accordance with the law and election process, focusing on consultation, selection of candidates, and introduction of candidates for People's Councils at all levels. In particular, it is important to consider the criteria for candidates to ensure political qualities, ethics, lifestyle, and to be trusted by the masses, while having a reasonable structure in terms of the number of delegates and ethnic groups. This time, Ky Son elected 35 delegates to the district People's Council, of which 90% of the delegates are ethnic minorities. By February 22, 2011, the district Election Committee had completed the first round of consultation, and is expected to conduct the second round of consultation around mid-March.

One of the particularly important tasks in preparing for the upcoming election of Ky Son district is propaganda work. Starting from March, the district has focused on promoting propaganda work, ensuring social order and safety in the area. To make propaganda work effective, printing documents, billboards and posters has been deployed since the end of February.

Due to the characteristics of the mountainous district, low level of education, and limited means of mass media reaching the people, the district directs propaganda through village and hamlet meetings to propagate the Law on People's Council Election, so that voters know and respond to the National Assembly election day on May 22. The district mobilizes officials of the district Party Committee, People's Committee, and mass organizations to go to 21 communes and towns to directly direct the election preparation steps; mobilizes a team of teachers at the grassroots level to act as secretaries for the election teams.

In general, the election implementation in Ky Son district has basically completed the relevant contents according to the schedule. From now until the election day, the District Election Committee and communes in Ky Son are determined to complete the task so that the election takes place democratically, safely, legally, and truly becomes a festival for all people.
