(Baonghean.vn) - Graduated from the University of Fisheries, with many years of experience working in aquaculture farms, Mr. Le Anh Tu in Vinh city "left the city" to go to the mountainous area of Anh Son to start a business. After more than 4 years of developing a model of a comprehensive farm for breeding fish and pigs, he now earns over 1 billion VND per year.

With the accumulated knowledge and experience, Mr. Tu boldly rented a 3-hectare land in Hamlet 14, Long Son Commune, for 70 million VND per year to raise fish fry. At first, when he moved from the city to a foreign country to do business, he experienced many difficulties. The most difficult part was finding a place to invest in building barns, investment capital, product output and lack of production experience. However, with the determination to build a farm under his own ownership, with the available knowledge, he boldly tried his hand.

Each batch of fish is usually incubated and raised for nearly 3 months before being sold.

Initially, Mr. Tu started raising fingerlings on a small scale and this was the first model in Long Son commune. Mr. Tu explained that the time to raise commercial fish usually lasts from 1 to 2 years before harvesting, while raising fingerlings can harvest many batches in a year and bring higher economic value.

Using his accumulated knowledge and experience, Mr. Tu has raised fish, cared for them in ponds and sold fish fry. He shared: First, it is necessary to select healthy parent fish, they must be separated and raised separately. When the fish reach adulthood, they are selected for pairing. After successful pairing, the mother fish produces eggs, and when the eggs are ripe, they are caught and injected with hormones. On average, each fish after pairing and successfully producing eggs can produce 1 million fry. Fish are usually selected for breeding in two seasons: spring and autumn.

From the time of breeding, after nearly 3 months, the fish fry can be sold, so farmers need to pay attention to taking care of them according to the correct technical process. Specifically, the best way to create a pond bottom layer is sandy soil or sandy loam, the bottom mud layer thickness is not more than 15cm. Build water supply and drainage lines to proactively ensure the water source for the pond is always clean. Every year, the pond needs to be drained, the bottom mud dredged, lime used to disinfect and prevent diseases. The food for fish fry is selected from natural, clean ingredients such as: floating pellets, rice bran powder, corn flour, soybean flour...

Mr. Le Anh Tu's fish breeding model in village 14, Long Son commune, Anh Son, with over 2 hectares, brings in an annual income of 150-200 million VND.

Thanks to the correct application of technical processes, the fish fry produced by him are all guaranteed in quality. Currently, the fish fry of Mr. Tu's farm has a stable output market, in addition to selling to local people, they are also sought out by traders from neighboring districts such as Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Con Cuong, Tan Ky...

Every year, he harvests 10-12 batches of fish, earning 150-200 million VND from selling fish, many times higher than raising commercial fish.

After a while, realizing that raising fish fry was effective, Mr. Tu decided to renovate 2 hectares of ponds to expand fish breeds such as: catfish, silver carp, bighead carp, grass carp, tilapia... These are popular fish species chosen by people in many localities to raise in ponds, lakes, and dams.

To take advantage of available facilities and increase income, Mr. Tu also invested in building a barn on an area of 300 m2to raise pigs for meat. To raise pigs successfully, he attended training courses organized by the locality, in addition, he also went to visit and learn more about models and researched documents online.

He gradually expanded the scale of his farming. Up to now, each year he raises 3 litters of pigs, each litter has 200 pigs; earning a profit of 250-300 million VND per year.

Mr. Tu's comprehensive farm brings in an income of over 1 billion VND/year; after deducting expenses, the profit is over 500 million VND. Choosing the path of self-employment and agricultural economic development, but for Mr. Tu, the knowledge learned at university really brings out its value. It is the knowledge and skills accumulated during the learning process and practical experience that have helped him establish a successful business.

Not only good at business, Mr. Tu always enthusiastically helps and shares his experience in livestock production, helping farmers in Long Son countryside develop their economy and escape poverty.
