According to the assessment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Hoa Tu Long medical waste incinerator invented by Mr. Trinh Dinh Nang (Bac Kan) is the first medical waste incinerator technology in Vietnam that meets the Ministry's standard 30, saving over 80% of fuel compared to imported incinerators; it only costs 5,000 VND/1 kg of waste if burned with diesel oil, 2,000 VND/1 kg of waste if burned with waste oil.

The Hoa Tu Long (HTL) medical hazardous waste incinerator is an invention of HTL Industrial Heat Company Limited. This is a medical hazardous waste incinerator granted exclusive patent number 10147 by the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology). The HTL medical hazardous waste incinerator has all the superiority and superiority compared to other medical hazardous waste incinerators in the world in terms of economy, especially in the most perfect treatment of emissions into the environment.

Trinh Dinh Nang was born in Hai Duong, but since childhood he followed his parents to live in Bac Kan. Attached to Bac Kan, he considered Bac Kan as his hometown and decided to choose Bac Kan as the location to set up a production facility for waste treatment products in general and medical hazardous waste treatment products in particular under the Bac Kan brand. Bac Kan province also supported his decision and approved a land area for him to set up Hoa Tu Long Industrial Heat Company Limited (HTL), in Nam Doi Than village, Nong Thuong commune, Bac Kan town.

He said that waste treatment is to protect the environment. Treatment of hazardous medical waste requires more attention to the environment because medical waste contains many toxic substances related to diseases and is highly contagious. The most important goal of the HTL medical waste incinerator is to treat the environment.

The HTL brand of medical hazardous waste incinerator has 3 main parts: Burner; incinerator and smoke and dust treatment system. The incinerator is a synchronous equipment system, performing continuous burning without interruption, the burning process is done by closed nanotechnology equipment, so smoke, dust and toxic odors are completely decomposed. While burning, the furnace door can still be opened to let in garbage, the furnace operator is not affected, and the temperature inside the furnace does not decrease.

The furnace has 3 observation eyes, which can be observed with the naked eye or installed with a camera system to observe the combustion inside. Mr. Nang affirmed: The materials and equipment of this furnace are all manufactured by him from domestic materials, only buying raw materials and refractory materials from abroad.

The HTL brand burner is completely superior to the burners of advanced industrial countries in the world that are widely used in burning toxic medical waste today, reaching the fastest temperature of 1,400 degrees. If the furnace temperature is already 1,000 degrees, the flame will reach 1,800 degrees; there is a fine-tuning and pressure-regulating unit that operates smoothly and precisely, so it can control and maintain a stable temperature.

HTL medical waste incinerator meets 5 superior factors: Fastest dust suppression; fastest cooling; lowest burning cost; fastest burning time and highest burning temperature. Of the same type and size, there is currently no medical waste incinerator in the world that can achieve these criteria.

According to the assessment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the HTL incinerator is the first medical waste incinerator technology in Vietnam that meets the Ministry's standard 30, saving over 80% of fuel compared to imported incinerators; it only costs 5,000 VND/kg of waste if burned with diesel oil, 2,000 VND/kg of waste if burned with waste oil. Meanwhile, the current incinerators from the US and Japan cost up to 80,000 VND/kg of waste, and the UK costs 70,000 VND/kg of waste.

Currently, HTL Industrial Co., Ltd. is manufacturing product brands such as HTL incinerators YT-15; YT-30; YT-50; YT-100 and YT-500 with a burning capacity of 15 to 500 kg of waste per hour. A company in Germany has offered to buy the technology or cooperate with the condition of building a factory in Germany, registering the copyright in Europe and a company in Hanoi has also made a similar offer but Mr. Nang has refused. He thinks that he is from Bac Kan and wants to produce this product from Bac Kan because in fact, the shipping cost, even to all over the world, is still cheaper than imported incinerators.

Trinh Dinh Nang confided: "Invention is my passion. Due to difficult family circumstances, I was not able to study properly. After finishing secondary school, I went to study mechanics and worked in many places and fields, but wherever I worked, I always had innovations to improve quality and reduce labor."

In the late 80s and early 90s of the last century, Trinh Dinh Nang invented a motorcycle rim press machine that was sold throughout the North. People in the motorcycle industry at that time all knew or heard of him. Not only did he sell rim press machines, being a mechanic, he also personally made “unique” spare parts to sell according to orders.


In Bac Kan, where there is a lot of alluvial gold, there are local and foreign gold miners who come to mine illegally and with licenses. Trinh Dinh Nang was also caught up in the "gold vortex". He created a machine to filter gold from crushed soil and rocks, which brought in high profits. Being an honest person and also inexperienced in intellectual property, he was taken advantage of by his business partner. Frustrated, he decided to find his own way.

Small in stature and with a “flat” way of speaking, this active person has a great intelligence. Trinh Dinh Nang reads a lot and has a good memory. The knowledge he acquired to become an inventor is self-taught. Although he did not finish high school, he could talk about chemistry and mathematics all day long.

When inventing the incinerator for hazardous medical waste, he carefully studied the characteristics, principles, and types of medical waste, which are composed of many different substances, to come up with the most optimal decomposition methods. His invention of the HTL hazardous medical waste incinerator and his general waste treatment systems have contributed to solving environmental problems - a difficult reality in many localities.

This is the cheapest and most effective waste treatment system. By recycling waste into electricity and fertilizer products, the product has been successfully applied in 4 hospitals, medical centers and waste treatment systems in Bim Son town (Thanh Hoa).
