(Baonghean.vn) - To develop livestock farming, farmer Bui Quang Huynh invested in a speaker for pigs to listen to music with the aim of helping pigs eat well, sleep easily, and bring high efficiency.

Taking us to visit the farm, Mr. Bui Quang Huynh, village 1, Thach Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An shared: After graduating from high school, Huynh decided to start a business right on his hometown land. In 2013, when the commune had a policy of leasing land for people to build farms, Huynh discussed with his family to receive 2 hectares of wasteland to convert into a comprehensive economic model. In early 2016, Mr. Huynh invested in a system of barns to raise pigs for meat. Currently, he raises 100 pigs per litter, 4 litters per year. On average, each year the income from pigs is approximately 1 billion VND. After deducting expenses, the profit is from 200 - 250 million VND. |
Through research on social networks, he realized that the model of raising pigs and letting them listen to music was highly effective, so he tried it. In addition to investing in a cool barn system, he spent nearly 3 million VND to buy a set of speakers to play every day when feeding the pigs. According to Mr. Huynh, the music he chose to play was lyrical music, with a moderate volume. Using this method, the pigs ate and slept a lot, so they grew quickly, and were sold 10-15 days earlier than pigs raised without listening to music. |
The pigs also get to bathe every day thanks to a water tank system built right in the barn. |
In addition to raising pigs, Mr. Huynh also raises 2,000 laying hens each year. Every day, he supplies thousands of clean eggs to local consumers. From raising 2,000 laying hens, after deducting expenses, he also earns a profit of over 100 million VND/year. |
With natural advantages, he also dug 3 sao of pond to raise fish. Raising fish also helps him take advantage of waste from raising pigs and chickens, improving the environment and helping his family have more income. Currently, he focuses on raising fish such as tilapia, catfish, etc. |
On an area of 1 hectare of garden land, the 8X farmer also focused on developing an orchard such as: 250 Thai jackfruit trees, 100 green-skinned grapefruit trees, and dozens of guava trees. |
Mr. Bui Quang Huynh also planted 2 sao of taro in his garden and has high economic value. |
Taking advantage of the area, Mr. Bui Quang Huynh also planted 1,000 ginseng trees to grow under the canopy. It is expected that this source of medicinal plants will help him earn a considerable income in the future. Mr. Huynh added: From the multi-plant, multi-animal economic model, it is not only a short-term measure to support the long-term but also helps him earn a significant income. |
