Lady Gaga admitted to having struggled with depression for a long time. |
"With cell phones everywhere, people don't see each other, they don't spend time together like they used to. That makes a lot of kids feel isolated. Not to mention all the hate speech they read on the Internet. The internet is like a toilet. It used to have a lot of great information, but you have to filter terribly to find the useful stuff," Lady Gaga criticized modern technology for distancing many people from each other.
"Those kids just want to be normal, but sometimes they are like robots. They don't understand why they are sad. I have suffered from depression and stress all my life. I have to face it every day. I want the kids to understand that we should always consider ourselves normal and that we are born that way," she said.
In 2013, Lady Gaga suffered from severe depression after the failure of her album ARTPOP and the breakdown of her relationship with her longtime manager Troy Carter. She said she was in a constant state of anger, doubt, sadness, and no longer wanted to defend herself to others.
