Towing a barge, 1 fisherman died of drowning
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 5, Mr. Nguyen Van Chau - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Phuong Ward (Hoang Mai Town) informed that after jumping into the sea to pull the rope to pull the barge to shore, fisherman Pham Van Chung died from drowning.
Accordingly, at around 4:00 p.m. on May 4, Mr. Pham Van Chung (born in 1978), residing in Hong Thai block, Quynh Phuong ward, was hired by a barge owner to tow the barge on the sandy shore of the border area between Quynh Phuong ward and Quynh Lien commune to Quynh Phuong fishing port.

When the ship reached a position near the barge to drop anchor, Mr. Chung jumped into the sea to pull the rope to shore. However, when they got close to the shore, some workers standing on the shore could no longer see Mr. Chung. Knowing that there was an accident, everyone quickly swam out to sea to search but to no avail. The incident was quickly reported to the authorities.
Immediately after receiving the news, local authorities and Hoang Mai town police were present at the scene to assist in searching for the victim's body. At around 11pm the same day, Chung's body was found by his family and the authorities.
