Interbank VND interest rates increase again
After a week of decline, the average VND trading interest rate on the interbank market has increased again with the highest increase of 1.71%.
According to the State Bank, last week, the average VND trading interest rate on the interbank market increased in most terms; in which the 2-month and 3-month terms increased by 0.58% and 0.62% respectively; the other terms increased from 1.07% (1-week term) to 1.71% (3-week term).
For the 12-month term alone, the average trading interest rate decreased by 1.18%. However, for terms of 6 months or more, transactions were insignificant. During the week, there were no VND transactions for terms of 9 months and over 12 months.

For USD transactions, the average trading interest rate decreased for overnight and 1-week terms, with decreases of 0.04% and 0.07%, respectively. The average trading interest rate increased for the remaining terms, with common increases ranging from 0.09% (1-month term) to 0.52% (6-month term). During the week, there were no USD transactions for 9-month and over 12-month terms; USD transactions for 12-month terms were insignificant.
In the previous week, the average VND interest rate traded on the interbank market decreased in most terms, with the sharpest decrease being the 1-month term, up to 3.04%.
Regarding turnover, also last week, total transaction turnover in the interbank market in VND reached approximately 80,424 billion VND, an average of about 16,085 billion VND/day; transaction turnover in USD converted to VND reached 46,566 billion VND, an average of about 9,313 billion VND/day.
Interbank transactions focused mainly on short-term terms. Short-term transaction turnover in VND reached approximately VND 59,602 billion, equivalent to 74% of total transaction turnover in VND; short-term transaction turnover in USD converted to VND reached approximately VND 31,299 billion, equivalent to 67% of total transaction turnover in USD.
