Hospital 115 driver seriously injured railway crossing guard
(Baonghean.vn) - At 4:10 p.m. on July 15, at the Yen Ly railway crossing (junction of National Highway 48 - National Highway 1A, Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An), the driver of Nghe An 115 Hospital assaulted two railway employees, injuring both of them and requiring emergency treatment.
Two gatekeepers, Mr. Pham Van Hai and Duong Van Kien (of Nghe Tinh Railway Management Company Limited) were blocking the road to let the North-South Reunification Train TN1 pass when a 12-seat passenger bus with license plate number 37S-2411 of Nghe An Hospital 115, driven by Nguyen Van Son (born in 1967, residing in Dien Chau town), carrying a group of hospital officials and employees, traveling from Vinh on National Highway 1A, suddenly ran a red light and crossed the railway to turn onto National Highway 48 when the train was approaching. Immediately, the two gatekeepers asked the driver to stop when the car had crossed the railway, to wait for the train to pass before handling the situation.
The scene of the fight
Driver Nguyen Van Son got out of the car and punched Pham Van Hai repeatedly in the face, causing him to collapse. Seeing his teammate being beaten, Duong Van Kien jumped in to intervene and was also punched in the face by Son. Phan Van Tien (on the 115 hospital bus, born in 1979, from Van Thanh commune, Yen Thanh) and Son also beat up the railway crossing guard Duong Van Kien. Both railway employees had to be taken to the emergency room.
Gatekeeper Pham Van Hai is in emergency care.
The incident caused traffic congestion on both National Highway 1A and National Highway 48 for more than 2 hours. Traffic on both national highways was only reopened at 6:30 p.m. Drivers Nguyen Van Son and Phan Van Tien, who were traveling on the 115 Hospital bus, were taken by police to the Dien Yen Commune People's Committee headquarters to clarify the incident.
