Multimedia journalism
(Baonghean) - The project to upgrade Nghe An electronic newspaper phase 1 has been completed and officially put into operation since November 10, 2013. The new version of Nghe An electronic newspaper shows many convenient features, beautiful form, easy to look up information. Since the new interface, the concept of "4-in-1 reporter" - multimedia journalism, has become the working motto of reporters of Nghe An Newspaper.
The reason for saying “4 in 1” is because, instead of just writing articles and taking photos for print newspapers like before, reporters now also shoot videos, record audio, and edit clips for online newspapers. With this method, reporters writing for print newspapers can use the content of the article to create scripts and commentary for video clips broadcast on online newspapers; when making video clips for online newspapers, they use the collected video materials to create articles for print newspapers. This method not only enriches the form of propaganda, but also increases the appeal and appeal to readers, while saving time and human resources.
Right in the first days of testing the new version of Nghe An electronic newspaper, under the close direction of the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper, 4 video reports on the law violations of some parishioners in Nghi Phuong (Nghi Loc) were completed, along with a series of articles published in the printed newspaper "Around the case of disturbing public order in Nghi Phuong" which attracted a large number of visitors, affirming the new direction of Nghe An electronic newspaper with a vivid, complete and convincing way of conveying information. Next, the episodes about General Vo Nguyen Giap, about Truong Bon, about the determination of teachers and students in the highlands, about the nights of collecting blessings from the sky; images of people and authorities urgently preventing storm Haiyan... were warmly received by readers. Reports, hot news, urgent issues sent by voters to the Provincial People's Council meeting... are updated promptly and truthfully, through video clips, news, articles, photo reports, helping Party and government leaders at all levels have more valuable information, grasp new issues arising at the grassroots level to have flexible and effective leadership and management.

To be able to work in that “4 in 1” style, Nghe An Newspaper reporters are always crammed with cameras, camcorders, recorders, notebooks, laptops, etc. This requires reporters to have both writing skills and proficiency in using technical equipment, film editing software, image processing, and sound processing to meet “multimedia” requirements. To make a report using video clips, sometimes a “multimedia” reporter has to do everything from AZ, writing the script, directing, filming, reading the commentary, and editing. Such a high requirement, but in the context of an increasing workload, increasingly demanding quality, while the number of reporters, editors, and technicians does not increase; In the condition of "marching and lining up at the same time", but under the direction of the Editorial Board, Nghe An Newspaper reporters quickly grasped new ways of working, overcame difficulties to reach remote areas, difficult and dangerous places to carry out topics, bringing readers valuable films, images and articles.
It can be said that this is not the most modern and complete time, but within the possible conditions, the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper has invested in equipment: video recording, recording studio, computers, specialized cameras... for reporters to work. In addition, the Newspaper has also set up a transmission line and placed a server at the VDC Data Transmission Center in Region 1 to help reporters and collaborators send large-capacity data to the editorial office in the fastest way.

Working while learning, "passing on the job" to each other, those who know a lot guide those who know less, gradually, reporters who have only been familiar with print newspapers, cameras, computers, and recording have come to understand more about the concepts of "framework", "frame axis", "full-medium-close-up"... through the guidance of colleagues who used to work in television such as Dao Tuan and Nguyen Son to film video clips for online newspapers. Some people even boldly hosted the program on the scene, increasing the timeliness and practicality of the work, especially during dangerous storms, complicated times, dark nights, remote areas..., further demonstrating the dedication of the team of reporters. They did not hesitate to face difficult working conditions and environments, sometimes dangerous, filming, taking photos, and interviewing to have valuable frames, documents, and hot news of the time to send to readers as quickly and beautifully as possible.
Faster, more accurate, more attractive is the motto of multimedia journalists - "4 in 1". Everyone is happy when the number of readers accessing Nghe An electronic newspaper is increasing; news, articles, photos, video clips, audio are increasingly rich, meeting the expectations of domestic and foreign readers. Along with the daily newspaper, Nghe An Weekend, Nghe An electronic newspaper has contributed to fulfilling the mission of "The voice of the Party, government and people of Nghe An".
Believing that, with the active support of increasingly modern equipment and means of operation, the concern and dedication of party journalists, Nghe An electronic newspaper will be a companion of the online community at home and abroad, bringing readers useful and valuable information, increasingly performing the political tasks that the Party Committee and people of Nghe An trust and entrust.
