How can you be an example?

(Baonghean) - There was once a leader who was the second in command of the Capital. During his time in office, he was famous throughout the country for going to work in a public car that cost nearly four thousand buffaloes. Ten years ago, he retired, but did not return to his own home and resolutely stayed in his public villa from then until now.

When asked why he didn't return the house, he calmly said that I was living properly. Ten years ago, I asked to find a place for me to live, but if I couldn't find one, I would still stay. The authorities responsible for housing this former "public servant" said that they had introduced several places, all of them big, beautiful houses that ordinary people wouldn't dare dream of, let alone the urban poor. But wherever he went, he shook his head. It seemed that he didn't like change and only wanted to stay in a familiar place. And this familiar place was located on the central street of the central district of the capital. Each square meter of land here had a market price of approximately one billion VND. The public villa he was defending was four hundred square meters wide, multiplying it by a mountain of money. That mountain was hard for anyone to overcome. So, it seemed that he was determined to stay. Even though he already had a villa in the most beautiful and luxurious urban area in Hanoi.

In theory, it is a huge absurdity. Because the villa was a public house that he lived in while in office. Now that he has retired, he must naturally return it to the State unconditionally, and not have to offer a price and then bargain for “adequate compensation” before he would move. In terms of sentiment, it is also not okay. Because a high-ranking official like him, at that time, certainly had the State provide land and built a house a few times. And he already had his own villa, so why did he keep trying to drag and seize something that was not his? Where were his qualifications and qualities as a Communist Party member? Obviously, his behavior was neither reasonable nor sympathetic. The same goes for the agencies in charge of this issue. For ten years, they were helpless before the procrastination of a stubborn individual. They should have followed the law and not returned the house, then forced him to return it. But some people said, no matter what, he was a high-ranking official who had made many contributions to the Capital. Here, we need to clarify the meaning of the two words "contribution", in order to have a reasonable way of looking at and solving the problem. Contribution means contributing your valuables to the common cause. So let's calculate and count what "valuables" you have contributed to Hanoi. What strategies of your own have you had to benefit the country and the people? Probably not, because no one has said that you had any special ideas during your time as a leader, other than the famous idea of using luxury public cars that exceed the allowed standards. Contribution also means using your own assets to serve the collective. It is true that you have used yourself to serve the collective. But it is not for free. The collective has treated you well. Specifically, you are paid regularly every month, without missing a penny. There were even times when your salary was increased ahead of schedule. You receive regular bonuses, and your titles are probably also complete. You have fully enjoyed all the regimes prescribed by the State. Even better than others. At the end of life, there is a big villa to retire in. So what is the point of saying that you contribute?

This story of unreasonable and shameless procrastination has spread throughout the country in recent days. The corruption is very obvious, don't mention the word "dedication" to add to the shame. If cadres and party members are like that, how can they be worthy of being role models for the people?
