Young man in Ha Tinh arrested for impregnating a 9th grade female student
Having met through social media, Chi Anh repeatedly invited his girlfriend to do adult things, causing her to become pregnant.
On July 6, authorities of Loc Ha district (Ha Tinh) announced that they had just prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Chi Anh (24 years old, residing in Tung Loc commune) to investigate the crime of Sexual intercourse with a person from 13 to under 16 years old, according to Article 145 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to investigation documents, in early March, through social networks, Chi Anh met Lan (15 years old, 9th grade student). The two then met many times and developed feelings for each other.
Authorities allege that over the course of two months, Chi Anh and the ninth-grade female student had sex multiple times. In mid-May, Lan's parents took her to the doctor after noticing unusual behavior and discovered she was pregnant.
From the complaint of the female student's family, when summoned by the police, Chi Anh admitted her actions.
